William Hoffman

William J. Hoffman, 80, of Butler passed away Wednesday evening at his home.

Born on March 16, 1934, in Towanda, he was a son of the late Henry Hoffman and Helen (Bride) Hoffman.

He was a retired electrician from the Armco Steel Plant after 25 years, and currently he was the owner and operator of the Perfect Swing Golf School and Driving Range since 1981.

He was a member of the St. Paul Roman Catholic Church in Butler, the Armco Country Club for numerous years and the Greens Keepers Association.

Surviving are his wife, Joyce (Huff) Hoffman, who he married on June 3, 1961, his children, Lori (Hoffman) Brady and her husband, Richard G. Brady, of Butler, and Kennedy Carl (K.C.) Hoffman of Butler; his grandchildren, Elizabeth A. Brady, William Hunter Hoffman, Abigail E. Brady, and Haley R. Hoffman, all of Butler; his siblings, Henry “Doc” Hoffman and Katherine “Katie” Snell, both of Towanda, and John “Butch” Hoffman of Virginia, and his numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother.

Hoffman — The friends of William J. Hoffman, who passed away Wednesday, April 23, 2014, will be received at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday.
