Butler IHS target of burglaries, vandalism
BUTLER TWP — Police are investigating a crime spree at the Butler Intermediate High School.
Investigators believe more than one person broke into the school twice — early Saturday morning and again early this morning.
Along with stealing property, the unknown suspects spray painted graffiti throughout the school, Butler Township Police Chief John Hays said.
At least three 35 mm cameras were stolen. However, police noted today that school officials had not yet completed an inventory check of all property.
The estimated loss of property and damage was not immediately available
Hays said police are still reviewing images captured by surveillance cameras in side and outside the building.
“We have decent images to look at,” he said.
He declined to say how the suspects got into the building. The crimes were reported about 1:30 a.m. Tuesday.
Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-285-9600.
