PITTSBURGH — Megabus officials say Pittsburgh remains a hub for the discount bus company, even though low ridership has caused the company to cut 13 of the 19 destinations that Pittsburgh once served since the company named the city a hub three years ago.
Philadelphia, State College and Harrisburg remain in-state destinations, while Megabuses are a lso still running to New York, Washington, D.C., and Morgantown, W.Va.
The low-cost carrier ended service to Cleveland and Toledo, Ohio, and Detroit and Ann Arbor, Mich., earlier this month due to low ridership. Before that, Megabus had cut service to nine other markets.
A spokesman said the company could restore service to those cities or other markets if demand increases.
