PITTSBURGH — Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens will host festivities May 24 for Discovery Garden Day, an annual celebration featuring children's hands-on crafts and activities.Held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the public garden's multisensory outdoor garden, all event programs are designed to encourage exploration and observation.Games, a potting activity and a craft and other events will cover a variety of nature-inspired topics.All Children's Discovery Garden Day activities, including light refreshments and entertainment, are free with regular paid admission, which is $15 for adults, $14 for senior citizens and students, and $11 for children ages 2 to 18.The garden, which is open seasonally, also can be visited daily from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and until dusk Fridays.
