Barbara J. Kudika

Barbara J. Kudika of Newhaven Court passed away April 10.

She was born March 5, 1928, to the late Frank and Marie (Blaha) Vittu.

Barbara was a graduate of Butler High School, and she then graduated from Shady Side Academy School of Nursing.

She had a long career as a registered nurse, working at the VA Hospital in Butler and Butler County Memorial Hospital, and she was a private duty nurse. She was a past president of the Butler County Private Duty Nurses Association.

Barbara was an avid gardener, reader and bridge player. She was also heavily involved with her church, St. Peter's Episcopal, as a member of the alter guild.

Mrs. Kudika is survived by one son, Stephen “Dave” Kudika and his wife, Susan, of Canton, Ohio; three grandsons; one granddaughter; and two sisters, Renee Kiser and her husband, Paul, of West Sunbury and Mary “Mitzi” Hohn and her husband, John, of Chicora.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Stephen J. Kudika; and two sons, Samuel and Scott.

KUDIKA — There will be no public visitation for Barbara J. Kudika, who died Thursday, April 10, 2014.An outdoor service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, 218 E. Jefferson St., Butler.Arrangements are being handled by the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to the South Butler Community Library, 240 W.
