Pam Long
Pam Long, 54, of Gasport, N.Y., formerly of Slippery Rock, passed away April 9.
Born on April 17, 1959, in Quonset Point, R.I., she was the daughter of Phillis and Paul Rodgers.
She is survived by her sons, David and Denny, and her five grandchildren.
Pam had been a registered OR nurse since 1984. She had worked as a traveling nurse in many hospitals throughout western New York and Pennsylvania, most recently serving in Eastern Niagara Hospital in Lockport, N.Y.
Her interests were many and varied, ranging from decorative cake making, to spending time with her grandchildren, to gardening, jet skiing, and paddle boarding. She was an avid reader, yet enjoyed flying aerobatics and being part of the Stearman Biplane Ride ground crew at Royalton Airport's yearly Fly-In Breakfast events.
Long— A memorial service for Pam Long, who passed away Wednesday, April 9, 2014, will be at 6 p.m. Thursday at the West Liberty United Methodist Church in Slippery Rock followed by a celebration of her life at the Long residence, 738 W. Liberty Road, Slippery Rock.
