Our thoughts go wandering when daylight fades.

To the land of long ago,

And memory paints the scenes of old.

In the gold of the twilight glow.

We seem to see in the soft, dim light.

A face we loved the best,

And think of her when the sun’s last ray goes down in the far-off west.

Because she was so dear to us her memory lives on,

Just as the fragrance of a flower still lingers when it’s gone.

The beauty that was hers alone in thought is with us still.

And in the hearts that loved her so.

She lives on and always will.
