Bertha Margaret “Bert” Cinci, 90, of Zelienople passed away Monday at Passavant Retirement Community.

Born Sept. 22, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Eugene and Barbara (Jozan) Gaal.

A Protestant, Bert was a member of St. Peter’s Reformed Church in Zelienople.

A graduate of Pittsburgh School of Nursing, she enjoyed aiding others as an LPN at the Vincentian Home for more than 30 years.

Bert was proud of her Hungarian heritage, and she loved to host house parties for her family and friends. She loved flower gardening, completing word searches, purchasing from the Home Shopping Network, and making arts and crafts. Later in her life, Bert developed a profound love for the Pittsburgh Pirates. Above all, she was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and aunt who will be dearly missed.

She is survived by her children, Sandra Tindall and her husband, Robert, of Mars, William A. Cinci, Jr., and his wife, Edna, of Portersville, Gary E. Cinci and his wife, Carol, of Freedom, and Dianne Aaron of Zelienople; her 10 grandchildren, Robbie, Christina, Natalie, Brian, Christopher, Samantha, Angie, Andrea, Alexandria, and Billy; her 13 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Bert was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William A. Cinci Sr., who she married Sept. 4, 1941, and who passed away May 17, 1992; her daughter, Judy Peffer; her granddaughter, Sharon Cinci; her three sisters, Elizabeth Gaal, Ida Kanzleiter and Helen Hussar, and her two brothers, Eugene Gaal and Joseph Lawrence.

Cinci — The family of Bertha Margaret “Bert” Cinci, who passed away Monday, April 7, 2014, will welcome friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Boylan Funeral Home, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.

A funeral ceremony will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Pastor James R. Bertoti officiating. She will be laid to rest at Zelienople Community Mausoleum.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in her honor in support of the Strand Theater Initiative, 415 Hastings Drive, Zelienople, PA 16063 or to Zelienople Memorial Skate Park, P.O. Box 142, Zelienople, PA 16063.
