Rodger A. Weitzel

Weitzel

Rodger A. Weitzel, 58, of Prospect passed away at 11:50 p.m. Thursday at his home.

He was born Sept. 4, 1955, in Ellwood City, the son of the late Clair Calvin Weitzel and the late Lillian (Gallagher) Weitzel.

Rodger was a life member of the Presbyterian Church of Prospect, where he had been an elder. He was an avid baseball fan and enjoyed going to Florida for Pirates spring training.

He had worked at AK Steel for 27 years.

Surviving are his wife, Nancy L. (Saunders) Weitzel, who he married June 13, 1987; two daughters, Molly and Lillian Weitzel at home; one son, Joshua Weitzel at home; two sisters, Delores (Reges) LeFebvre of Portersville and Marcia (Kenneth) Parton of Slippery Rock; one brother, Blair Weitzel of Portersville; and several nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by his brother, Ronald Weitzel.

WEITZEL — Services for Rodger A. Weitzel, who died Thursday, April 3, 2014, will be at the Presbyterian Church of Prospect, 115 Church St., at 11 a.m. Tuesday with Dave Fox officiating. Interment will be in the Greenlawn Burial Estates, Butler.Arrangements are handled by the Young Funeral Home, Butler.Contributions may be made to the Presbyterian Church of Prospect, 115 Church St., Prospect, PA 16052.
