Hissem

Della Patricia Hissem, 82, of Portersville passed away at her home at 6:50 p.m. Thursday.

Born in Greensburg on April 19, 1931, Della was the daughter of the late Thomas and Bessie Olive Greenwalt Laird.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert R. Hissem on May 7, 2009. They were married Jan. 26, 1952.

She was a former member of the Ellwood City Lioness Club and a member of the Youngwood High School Class of 1951.

Surviving are her two sons and their fiances, Douglas Hissem and Mary Jo Weir, and Terry Hissem and Monika Seegler, all of Portersville; her grandchildren, Sonya and Scott Rau of Buckeye, Ariz., and Schuyler Hissem of New Castle; one step-granddaughter, Mikayle Davis of New Castle; three great grandchildren, Elijah, Isaiah and Jonah Rau; and one niece, Patty Crossland of Greensburg.

Besides her parents and husband, Della was preceded in death by two sisters, Jean Laird and Betty Haun; and one brother, Bill Laird.
