John (Bill) William Cumpston Sr., 58, of Butler, passed away Tuesday, March 25, 2014, of heart complications.

Born on Oct. 11, 1955, in Kennedy Township, he was a son of Claude and Sara (Cummins) Cumpston.

A carpenter by trade, John had a passion for the outdoors and a love for Jesus that ran deep.

John is survived by his two sons, Aaron (Alisha) Cumpston and John Cumpston Jr.; his daughter, Gabrielle Cumpston; his two brothers, Jack (Nancy) Cumpston and Richard Cumpston; his sister Carol (Edward) Ganoe; and his many nieces and nephews.

John was preceded in death by both parents as well as his brother, Samuel Cumpston.
