William Casey

William F. Casey, 85, of Zelienople passed away Friday at Passavant Retirement Community.

Born on Oct. 9, 1928, in Ellwood City, he was the son of the late James and Florence (Buehler) Casey.

William retired as an accountant from American Bridge after 30 years of dedicated work.

He was a 52-year member of the Elks, where he acted as Exalted Ruler, Grand Exalted Ruler and state officer. William was also a member of the Harmony Lodge 429 F&AM. He enjoyed playing cards, golfing, bowling and playing softball, but above all, he loved watching his grandchildren as they grew. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, who will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered.

He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Casey of Zelienople; his children, Robert (Trudy) Casey of Pittsburgh, Deborah Miller of Portersville, Diane (David) Takakjy of Cranberry Township, Judith (Richard) Polichio of Espyville, Natalie (David) Eichler of the North Hills, Dorothy Casey Goehring (John) of Cranberry Township and Richard (Denise) Casey of Conway; his nine grandchildren, Kimberly, Kathy, David Jr., Billy, Anthony, Christopher, Ashley, Nicholas and Sean; his four great-grandchildren, Chad, Brianna, Lucas and Colt; and his two stepchildren, Brad Ehrman of Cranberry Township and Jan Bach (Doug) of Fombell.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Marjorie (Keel) Casey, who passed away on April 27, 2001; his two sisters; and his brother.

Casey — William's family will welcome friends of William F. Casey, who passed away Friday, March 28, 2014, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Glenn-Kildoo Funeral Home, 130 Wisconsin Ave., Cranberry Township.A funeral ceremony will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. James R. Bertoti officiating. William will be laid to rest at Pinewood Memorial Gardens in Cranberry Township.If desired, memorial contributions may be made in his honor in support of the VNA Hospice, 154 Hindman Road, Butler, PA 16001.
