The Musical Theatre Guild will present “Jesus Christ Superstar” at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 3 p.m. Sunday at the Succop Theater at Butler County Community College.

The musical stars Ron Cehelsky Jr. as Jesus of Nazareth and Jeff Carey as Judas Iscariot.

Tickets are $17 for adults and $10 for students.

BRADY TWP — The Old Stone House's summer schedule will include a series of early-American cooking classes, Civil War music, and a look at “U.S. Soldiers Through the Ages.”Tours will begin Saturday and continue through Oct. 26. Saturday tours are conducted from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday tours from noon to 5 p.m.The schedule includes Taste of History Cooking Sessions: Open Hearth Cooking, May 10 and June 7; Construction of a Bake Oven, 10 a.m. June 21; Open Hearth Cooking and Bake Oven combined class, July 12 and Aug. 16; Open Hearth Cooking, Sept. 13; Bake Oven, Sept. 20; and a harvest dinner, Oct. 18.Cost for each course is $35, with registration required at oldstonehousepa.org/tasteofhistory.Other planned activities are:Civil War Era Music with Thomas Jolin, musician and instrument builder, 4 p.m. June 7“U.S. Soldier Through the Ages” presentation with the 63rd Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry, in cooperation with several veterans groups, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. June 14 and noon to 5 p.m. June 15French and Indian War encampment with military drills, battles and demonstrations, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Aug. 9 and noon to 5 p.m. Aug. 10.The Old Stone House is at the intersection of Routes 8, 173 and 528.

CRANBERRY TWP — Plains Presbyterian Church, off Franklin Road, will host a Faire from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday.The festival will include many free activities and games including a petting zoo, a rock climbing wall and inflatable bounce houses. There will be a nature trail scavenger hunt, sand art activities, cemetery marker etchings and yard games.In addition, there will be a strawberry festival, food and a bake sale. Call 724-538-8785.

The gallery in Saxonburg sponsored by the Saxonburg Area Artists Cooperative will feature a multi-artist/mixed media exhibit of the work of Red Brick Gallery artists from May 10 to June 7.A reception featuring the artists will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. May 10 at the gallery at 215, rear, W. Main St.The Red Brick Gallery is in Foxburg. PITTSBURGH — The Hays bald eagle chicks in Pittsburgh have become a sensation, and the National Aviary has scheduled activities surrounding the baby birds.The chicks can be expected to fledge between eight to 12 weeks, so as early as May 23 for the first hatched chick and as late as June 24 for the third hatched. The Harmar eaglets fledge date ranges from June 5 to July 3.A Bald Eagle Tour is planned for 9 a.m. May 17; cost is $35 for nonmembers. The tour will show both the bald eagles inside the aviary and the ones at the Hays nest site.An Eagles of the World Weekend is planned from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 17 and 18.For information, call 412-323-7235 or visit www.aviary.org.

After seven years of presenting “Esther the Musical” to the community, Jeannie Allen of Valencia has written a second major production, “The Prodigal Sons.”The full-length musical features new music written by Allen.The script deals with two sons in the 1980s on a dairy farm in Oregon. The younger son demands his inheritance and sets out for Reno where he has a wild time and loses everything. He winds up in a pig pen. He then returns to his father, broken and destitute. The father still loves him and forgives him, throwing a party to welcome him back, but his older brother is angry and jealous and refuses to forgive.Brian Louttit plays the prodigal son and Sam Bartley the older brother. Both are of Valencia. Many cast members come from Glade Run United Presbyterian Church.Show time is 7:30 p.m. May 16 and 17 and 3 p.m. May 18 at Glade Run U.P. Church.Admission is $10. Half of the proceeds will go to “Remaining Factors,” the ministry of Allen's son, David Allen.

HARMONY — Patricia Knoechel will present her annual Quilt in a Day program from 10 a.m. to noon May 27 at the Harmony Museum, 218 Mercer St.Knoechel’s presentations are based on the latest publications of Knoechel and her sister, Quilt in a Day founder and international television quilter Eleanor Burns. The Zelienople natives, who reside in California, have published many quilting books.The May 27 program will be built around the new book “Mystery Quilt,” as well as patterns Honeycomb, Christmas Tree and Wreath, Double Four Patch, Geese in the Garden, Pineapple, Nouveau Wedding Ring, Chimneys and Cornerstones.Quilts will be displayed, and books and supplies can be purchased.Admission is $7.
