Fred Hogue

Fred Eugene Hogue, 77, of Eau Claire passed away early Monday morning at the VNA inpatient hospice in Butler.

Born in Butler on Oct. 1, 1936, he was the son of the late Roy J. and Nancy McCall Hogue.

Fred was a truck driver for a number of years as well as a fabricator for Bob Beans.

He was married to Alice Joann Hogue, who passed away on Dec. 24, 2013.

Fred, alongside his late wife, farmed the Hunter farm and neighboring farms in Cherry Valley most of his adult life. He loved farming and gardening. He also enjoyed spending time with Toby, his dog.

He is survived by his four children, Wendy Grossman and Douglas Hogue at home, Brenda Lauer of Butler and Fred Hogue Jr. (Patti) of Hilliards; his grandchildren, Justin (Tina) Grossman, Jessica Lauer, Matthew Lauer, Mackenzi Crissman and Abbi Cochran; his two great-grandchildren, Ava Rossman and Adalyn Rose Cochran; his brother, Charles (Joanne) Hogue of Portersville; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Evalena McConnell, and his four brothers, Elmer, Kenneth, Russell and Donald Hogue.

Hogue— The friends of Fred Eugene Hogue, who passed away Monday, March 24, 2014, will be received from 1 to 3 p.m. today at the H. Jack Buzard Funeral Homes, 201 S. Washington St., Eau Claire. The funeral service will be at 3 p.m. Interment will immediately follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery near Prospect.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his memory to the VNA inpatient hospice of Butler.
