George L. 'Skip' Hartle
George L. “Skip” Hartle, 69, of New Castle, formerly of Butler, passed away at 1:06 p.m. Monday at Jameson Memorial Hospital following a short illness.
Skip was born on June 15, 1944, in Butler. He was the son of the late Plummer E. Hartle and Pauline Charlotte McKissick Hartle.
He was an Airborne Ranger with the U.S. Army.
He was a member of American Legion Post 117 of Butler and the Laborers Union of America 232 with more than 46 years of service.
Skip is survived by his former wife, Cheryl Ann Hall; his two daughters, Kim Denise (Eric) Myers of Volant, and Jodi Lynn Hartle of Slippery Rock; and his son, Russell Lewis Hartle of New Castle. Also surviving are his grandchildren, the pride and joy of his life, Megan Rose Myers, Brayden Alan Durnell, Jacob Eric Myers, Dalton James Hartle and Kyle Joshua Durnell; his beloved great-granddaughter, Isabella Cadence “Skipette” Myers; and his faithful companion, Sassafras “Sassy.”
Skip was preceded in death by his three sisters and his three brothers.
