John Paul Gillen Sr. of Grove City passed away Thursday at UPMC Horizons in Farrell.

The son of Hilliard G. and Catherine Schneider Gillen, he was born in Pittsburgh on Oct. 19, 1941. He was a graduate of St. Joseph High School in Mt. Oliver.

He was the owner and operator of C-S Enterprises in Slippery Rock.

On Nov. 2, 1974, he married the former Patricia Devlin, who survives along with their three children, Colleen (Benjamin) Bates of Cranberry Township, Shayna Gillen and her fiance, Keith Kaufman, of Grove City and Jay Gillen of Grove City. Also surviving are his two brothers, Jamie Gillen of Butler and Hilliard (Hildegarde) Gillen of Pittsburgh; and his sister, Kathleen Roscoe of Pittsburgh.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Phyllis Zorbag.
