Janice Schiebel

Janice F. Schiebel, 77, of Cabot passed away Tuesday at the LifeCare Hospital in Natrona Heights.

Born Feb. 20, 1937, in Natrona Heights, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Marion (McKinney) Porter.

Janice was a graduate of Har-Brack High School. She retired after 15 years from Gemstone Jewelry in the Clearview Mall, where she was a manager. She was a member of the St. Mary of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church. Janice enjoyed gardening. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, who affectionately called her “Granny Goose.”

Surviving are her loving children, George Schiebel Jr. of Landenberg, Pa., Christopher Schiebel of Springfield, Mass., Diane Smolen of Cabot and Peggy Ortmann of Cabot; her 10 grandchildren; her four great-grandchildren; and her sister, Betty Ritter of Florida.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George L. Schiebel, who passed away Feb. 9, 1998, and her siblings, Marvin Porter, Wanda Lightbody and Charles Porter.

Schiebel— The friends of Janice F. Schiebel, 77, of Cabot, who passed away Tuesday, March 11, 2014, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Fox Funeral Home, 410 W.
