Douglas Pickett Jr

In loving memory of Douglas Pickett Jr, husband, dad.

It’s so hard to believe it has been two years since Jesus came and carried you home on April 14. For us, that night was the most traumatic thing that has ever happened to us, but to you it was the ultimate reunion.

The boys and I miss you so much. You left a void not only with family and friends but with your brotherhood of firefighters and carpenters. You were a true American. You were a man of few words and earned, lovingly, the title Grump by many, but you had a beautiful heart that those that took the time to see, were blessed.

The boys have struggled the past two years in their own way. They are strong like you and in their time, will conquer the sorrow. Some people believe there is no life after but, I know that isn’t true every time I hear my wind chimes, find a penny just at the right time or feel the chill in my right should that you are right here with me.

Thank you for al the blessings you have given me.
