The Butler County Symphony Orchestra is celebrating its final concert of the 65th season at 7:30 p.m. Saturday with “Dance!” in the Butler Intermediate High School auditorium.

The guest soloist will be 15-year-old violin virtuoso Adé Williams.

The symphony also will welcome Young Musicians of Note, who are Butler County school students in 4th through 6th grades who were nominated by their teachers for musical aptitude.

Music director Matthew Kraemer will present a pre-concert lecture at 6:30 p.m. to talk about the fine points of the music to be performed.

Sing Hosanna! presents “The Choice” at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Succop Theater at Butler County Community College.Tickets are $15 for those 11 and older and $10 for those 10 and younger. FRAZER TWP, Allegheny County — Wagman Observatory will be open to the public for the total lunar eclipse in the wee hours of Tuesday morning.The partial eclipse of the moon will begin shortly before 2 a.m. and totality starts at 3:07 a.m. and ends at 4:25 a.m. Then partial eclipse ends at 5:33 a.m.This is the first of two total lunar eclipses for 2014. The other will be the morning of Oct. 8.The Nicholas E. Wagman Observatory is in Deer Lakes Regional Park near Russellton.Call 724-224-2510 for more information.

HARRISVILLE — The Harrisville Community Band will present its annual spring concert at 7 p.m. April 25 at the Harrisville Volunteer Fire Company Hall along Route 58.Admission is free. Fire company personnel will have refreshments for sale at intermission.The band is in its 49th season after being founded in 1965 by the late Rev. David Kennedy of Harmony Presbyterian Church.Concert selections will include “Gaslight Gaieties,” “Salute to the Colors March,” “Blue Danube Waltz,” “Teddy Bears Picnic,” “Satchmo” and “A Festival of Hymns.”Master of ceremonies will be John Snyder of Slippery Rock.

LYNDORA — The Butler County Philatelic Society will celebrate its 100th anniversary at the 68th Butlerpex, the group's annual stamp and postcard exhibition May 9 and 10 at Tanglewood Center, 10 Austin Ave.There will be 13 stamp/postcard dealers, a post office, show cachet, children's area, snack bar and table auction. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 9, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 10.Admission, parking and a commemorative program are free.

The third annual Armstrong Trail Fundraising Ride, hosted by the Armstrong Rails to Trails Association and the Allegheny Valley Land Trust, will be May 17.The event will be held rain or shine and offers a choice of an 18-mile or 30-mile round trip bicycle ride or a 4-mile round trip walk or ride.The 18-mile route will begin at 10:30 a.m. in the parking lot behind the Church of God, 629 Woodward Ave., Kittanning.The 30-mile route starts at 10 a.m. at the treatment plant parking lot on Verner Street in East Brady.Walkers and short route riders will begin at 10:30 a.m. at the Nautical Mile Campground, 530 Stone Ave., Templeton.The fee is $25 in advance or $30 at the door for adults and $15 in advance or $20 at the door for children ages 12 to 18.Call 412-759-9152 or send e-mail to toni.henry51@gmail.com. PITTSBURGH — “Jazz Mazz,” the final concert in the Bach Choir season, will include the “Mass of Hope” by Pittsburgh's Joe Negri, along with “Missa Kenya” by Paul Balser.The Negri event will be accompanied by Joe and his quartet and will feature mezzo-soprano Maureen Budway and baritone Thomas Douglas as soloists with the choir.Performances will be at 8 p.m. April 26 and at 4 p.m. April 27 at the New Hazlett Theater, 6 Allegheny Square, North Side.Tickets are $10 to $30 and available by calling 888-718-4253. PITTSBURGH — Quantum Theatre will open its adaptation of “Pantagleize” today at a complex at 400 N. Lexington St., Point Breeze.Quantum is known for its experimentation, and this play will be staged in offices. Audience members will experience both public and private spaces as they try to figure out who is doing what to whom.Shows will begin at 8 p.m. Wednesdays through Saturdays and at 7 p.m. Sundays through April 27.Tickets are $36 to $49 with $18 student tickets.
