The Sons of Italy building on Main Street is being demolished, starting today, to make way for a new Rite Aid store as part of the Centre City project.

Centre City, estimated to cost more than $18 million, also will bring an 80-room hotel and 225-lot parking garage to other parts of the project site. The drugstore is to open in October. Construction of the other two structures will begin this summer and is expected to take a year to complete.
