Earnest 'Bob' Ball
Earnest “Bob” Ball, 85, of Butler passed away Wednesday at VNA Inpatient Hospice.
He was born on April 15, 1928, in Black Lake, Pa., the son of the late Earnest and Kathryn (Moore) Ball.
Bob was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He was a member of the St. Paul’s Catholic Church, the VFW Post 249, the American Legion Post 778 and the Croatian Hall.
He retired from Armco after 38 years of service.
Bob loved fishing.
Surviving are his two daughters, Kathleen “Kathye” (Richard “Dick”) Parkin of Ebensburg and Tammy (Gerardo) Gutierrez of Butler; his two sons, Earnest “Bobby” Ball Jr. of Butler and Richard “Rick” Ball and his companion, Dawn, of Butler; his eight grandchildren; his 10 great-grandchildren, and his three great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Violet (Szkult) Ball, who died Sept. 27, 2012; his two sisters; his two brothers; his half-brother, and his two stepbrothers.
Ball — The friends of Earnest “Bob” Ball, who passed away Wednesday, March 5, 2014, will be received at the Young Funeral Home, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler, from 1 p.m. until the time of the blessing service at 3 p.m. Sunday.Military honors will be at the funeral home by the VFW Post 249 and the American Legion Post 778.
