Janet L. Powell Metz
Janet L. Powell Metz, 86, of Harmony passed away Monday afternoon at the Evergreen Nursing Center in Harmony.
Born in Harmony on Oct. 12, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Spurgeon and Mary Heckard Powell.
She was a member of the Grace Church in Harmony.
Janet was a devoted mother and grandmother who enjoyed reading, camping, solving crossword puzzles and bowling.
She is survived by her daughter, Barbara (Robert) Wenzelburger of Zelienople; her two sons, James L. (Judy) Metz of Cary, N.C., and Steven R. (Shirley) Metz of Harmony; her four grandchildren; and her two great-grandsons.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold L. Metz, on March 13, 2001, and by her daughter, Marcia.
Metz — The friends and relatives of Janet L. Powell Metz, who passed away Monday, March 3, 2014, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the A. Carl Kinsey-Ronald N. Volz Funeral Home, 114 W. Spring St., Zelienople.Services will be at the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. Friday with the Rev. Peter Everett, Janet's pastor, officiating.
