West Central moves

Equipment dealer takes Zanotti site

BUTLER TWP — The former Zanotti Motors building on Route 8 on Monday officially will be the new site for West Central Equipment.

The company is a John Deere dealer, buying that dealership from Maple Mountain Equipment.

West Central Equipment has been on New Castle Road. That store at Alameda Plaza will close at 2 p.m. Saturday and reopen in its new Pittsburgh Road location at 8 a.m. Monday.

Company President David Slezak said, “The store in Alameda Plaza that we’re currently operating was not designed to effectively meet the needs of an equipment dealer.

“Since the former Zanotti Motors building was built as a Harley Davidson Motorcycle dealership, it fits well with the type of equipment dealer we are.”

The store carries STIHL outdoor power equipment, HONDA walk-behind mowers and generators, and John Deere riding lawn mowers, utility vehicles and compact utility tractors.

The building has been vacant since Zanotti Motors closed two years ago.
