King, Martin win county tournament
LYNDORA — Richard King and Steve Martin won the singles championships at the recent Butler County Men’s Bowling Tournament held at Sherwood Lanes.
King, a Prospect resident, shot a 693 series to win singles scratch. Martin, a Mars resident, had an 879 for the singles handicapped award.
Brian Marcellus of Butler won all events scratch with a 2,106 while John Lorenz of Mars won all events handicapped with a 2,540. Lorenz also won singles senior (ages 50-59) handicapped with a 915.
Thomas Schiebel of Butler won senior singles (ages 60-69) handicapped with an 830 while David Rouda Sr. of Butler won singles 70-older handicapped with a 787.
Doubles scratch winners were Nick Cooter and Kevin Hindman with a 1,435. Doubles handicapped winners were Dale Pennington and Don Meier with a 1,664.
Winning the team scratch title were Cooter of Butler — Barry Barger, Nick Cooter, Hindman and Marcellus — with a 2,791.
The team handicapped champion was Wild & Crazy Guys opf Mars — Lorenz, Martin, Ed Palko and Ed Kuhn — with a 3,278.
The tournament awarded $5,139.92 in prize money overall.
