Francine Mellish Rodgers

Francine Mellish Rodgers, 63, of Sigel, Pa., formerly of Worthington, passed away Thursday in Roanoke, Va.

She was born on Jan. 19, 1951, in Kittanning, the daughter of Frank Mellish and Betty Lytle Mellish.

Francine married Bernard Rodgers on June 4, 1968. She worked as a dietary aide at Kittanning Care and at the Armstrong School District.

Her hobbies included watching football, gardening, canning, baking, sewing, crocheting and playing cards. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband; her son, Keith (Colleen) Rodgers of Kittanning; her daughters, Jill (Eric) Peat of Kittanning and Janelle (Dan) Brumbaugh of Wytheville, Va., and her four grandchildren, Brandon Pyle, Jonathan Pyle, Haley Brumbaugh and Taylor Rodgers. She also is survived by her brother, Vincent (Penny) Mellish of Fla.; her sister, Sally Phillips of Fla., and her dog, Cami.

She was preceded in death by her twin brother, Frank Mellish.

Rodgers — Visitation for Francine Mellish Rodgers, who passed away Thursday, Feb. 27, 2014, will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Mantini Funeral Home, 701 Sixth Avenue, Ford City. The service will follow at 8 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor April Dailey officiating.
