WASHINGTON, Pa. — Police say a 10-year-old girl was fatally shot this morning in her head at her home here.

Washington County Coroner Tim Warco identified the girl as Taniyah Thomas and said she was shot just before 4 a.m. at her home.

Authorities haven’t released any details about the circumstances of the shooting.

Police say Taniyah was a fourth-grader at Washington Park School.

Police planned a news conference for later today to release additional information.
