Phipps in Season
PITTSBURGH — Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens takes visitors on a toe-tapping journey through a musical world at the Spring Flower Show.
Musical genres from swing and big band to blues and rock ’n’ roll will be represented through sculptures made from upcycled instruments, planters such as an upright piano, and carefully orchestrated plantings designed to mimic the rise and fall of musical notes.
Popular songs will be piped through some of the rooms, adding to the experience.
The spring show runs through April 20 at the conservatory at One Schenley Park.
Hours are 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily and until 10 p.m. Fridays. Admission is $15 for adults, $14 for senior citizens and students, and $11 for children ages 2 to 18. Call 412-622-6914 for information.
