6 youths advance to Quest semis

GIBSONIA — More Kean Quest youth semifinalists have been announced.

Preliminary singing rounds four and five have sent six Butler County students on to compete this Sunday in the talent search semifinals at the Kean Theatre, 5847 Meridian Road.

Alexandria Veneziano of Cranberry Township, in addition to being chosen a semifinalist, won the Audience Choice Award at her March 16 preliminary round.

Also advancing from a March 16 preliminary round are:

Amanda Bishop and Tishymarie Hornsby, both of Butler, Colleen O'Neil of Fenelton, Cierra Ritzert of Fairview Township, and Taylor Swann of Adams Township.

Contestants are competing for a chance to win a recording package and professional pictures and be named in two categories: overall Judges' Choice and Audience Choice.

The annual Jackie Evancho Award, named for the singer and former Kean Quest contestant, will be presented by Evancho herself April 11 during the youth finals at 7 p.m.The Jackie Evancho Award is presented to a contestant who has competed in Kean Quest for two or more years, works hard, and continues to follow his or her dreams no matter the outcome of the competition.There is still time to register for the adult competition, which will be held April 4, by calling 724-625-3770 or visiting www.KeanTheatre.com.The Kean Quest Talent Search is sponsored by St. Barnabas Health System and benefits its free care fund.
