'Jerusalem' shown in large format

“Jerusalem” reveals Holy Land sites through exclusive access gained by the large-format film crew. The film is showing in the four-story Omnimax Theater at the Carnegie Science Center.

PITTSBURGH — A giant screen film immerses audiences in a cinematic journey that soars high above the Holy Land and plunges deep into the Old City in “Jerusalem.”

Narrated by Benedict Cumberbatch, “Jerusalem” gives audiences access to iconic holy sites including the Western Wall, the Dome of the Rock, the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, the Jordan River, the Sea of Galilee, the mountain fortress of Masada, as well as little-known parts of the region.

“Jerusalem” presents its story from many perspectives, interviewing a prominent archaeologist, for example, and following city inhabitants.

The 43-minute large format film is showing in the Rangos Omnimax Theater at the Carnegie Science Center, One Allegheny Ave., North Side.

Tickets for most shows are $8.50 for adults and $6.50 for children ages 3 to 12. Call 412-237-3400 for show times.
