Harold Miller

Harold Worth Miller, 87, of Butler passed away Monday. He was a resident of Orchard Manor in Grove City, Pa.

He was born on July 7, 1926, in Winfield, Pa., the son of William Miller and Nancy McMillen Miller.

Harold joined the Navy in 1944 where he taught Morse code as a Navy Seaman 1st Class.

He worked at Penn Dixie for 40 years as a miner, heavy equipment operator and truck driver. He was a member of the St. Mark’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Butler.

Harold was an avid gun enthusiast who enjoyed skeet and trap shooting, reloading, target shooting, crossbow and longbow archery.

Surviving are his daughter, Patricia Ann Miller Lucas of Tallahassee, Fla., his son, Rodney Blain Miller of Slippery Rock, and his granddaughter, Jennifer Michele Lucas.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Eilene Edgington Miller.

Miller — The friends of Harold Worth Miller, who passed away Monday, Feb. 24, 2014, will be received at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler, from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday.The funeral services will be at the funeral home at 2 p.m. Friday with the Rev. Dr. Alden Towberman officiating.Interment will be in Worthington Lutheran Cemetery.Information also is available at www.geibelfuneralhome.com.
