The Bistro by Pizza Joe’s at 584 Dinnerbell Road near Saxonburg was founded by Frank Fraschetti of New Castle in 2013.
Frank is no stranger to delicious Italian food. He was raised by a beautiful Italian mama who came to America from Naples, Italy, when she was 18 and filled their family’s home with the aroma and taste of authentic Italian cuisine on a daily basis.
The Bistro is a combination of favorite recipes from the Pizza Joe’s menu, and Mama Fraschetti’s magnificent culinary offerings. The menu boasts of homemade raviolis with red sauce or alfredo, lasagna and eggplant rollups, wedding soup, garlic knots, the house chopped salad, mouthwatering meatballs, and Bistro cannolis just for starters.
The Bistro now offers a delicious Yuengling Beer-battered haddock dinner and sandwich, plus $5.99 lunch features daily.
Mama Fraschetti and her sister, who owns a restaurant in Italy, swap recipes on a regular basis, so you know there are always new and delicious features as well as the standard fare.
The atmosphere is warm and inviting from the copper ceiling to the Tuscan style décor, to the fireplace and waterfalls. Chances are you will be greeted or served by a member of Frank’s family when you arrive. Guests are made to feel as though they are part of the family.
Moderate prices and generous portion sizes make this a great place to dine with family and friends.
The Bistro is open Monday to Thursday 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., Friday and Saturday 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Sundays 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Take out and delivery service is also available by calling 724-524-1888.
