Margaret R. Hilliard, 82, of Butler passed away Sunday at Concordia Lutheran Ministries.

Born on Dec. 4, 1931, in Butler, she was the daughter of the late Paul Hickey Sr. and Mary (Hartman) Hickey.

She worked at Mars High School, Conley's and Harmarville Research, where she was a cook.

She was a member of the Thorn Creek United Methodist Church and the Winfield Senior Center. Margaret enjoyed fishing, bingo and gambling at casinos.

Surviving are her loving husband, Richard L. Hilliard Sr., who she married on Sept. 1, 1978; her sons, Paul (Donna) Vogel of Zelienople, John Vogel of Saxonburg and Earl Vogel of Butler; her daughters, Jean (John) White of Butler and Rebecca (John) Howell of Atwater, Ohio; her nine grandchildren; and her eight great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her two stepsons, Richard Jr. and James; her four stepdaughters, Emma, Tina, Debbie and Deritha; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepmother, Catherine Hickey; her daughter-in-law, Rhonda Vogel; her four brothers; her sister; and her two stepsisters.

Hilliard — The friends of Margaret R. Hilliard, who passed away Sunday, Feb. 23, 2014, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Fox Funeral Home, 410 W. Main St., Saxonburg.The services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Deborah Huffmyer officiating.
