Honda North in Butler has again been recognized for its outstanding dealership performance with the Honda President’s Award for 2013.

This is Honda North’s fifth straight President’s Award win and the dealership’s seventh overall since 2006. It is one of only nine Honda dealerships in Pennsylvania to earn this award for 2013, and one of only three dealerships in Western Pennsylvania.

The President’s Award is Honda’s highest dealership honor and is presented only to the most elite dealerships that consistently demonstrate excellence throughout all areas of their operations. Of more than 1,000 Honda automobile dealerships across the country, Honda North was one of only 173 to earn the honor in 2013.

“There’s no doubt that winning this award has become an objective” said Jon Palmiero, Honda North co-owner. “The President’s Award recognizes a dealership’s consistent delivery of excellence, something we are highly committed to. That said, we never take this award for granted. It is still a huge honor to be recognized among the best Honda dealers in the country.”

“It’s not unlike team sports,” said Howard Neff, Honda North co-owner. “It’s a lot easier to win if you have great players who play together as a team. Still, every year, we all start over at zero and you have to go out and prove all over again that you are still among the best of the best.

“Since customer satisfaction scores are major criteria in the President’s award, winning it is really the equivalent of having our customers recognize us for our job performance — and that’s the most gratifying thing of it all.”

Honda North’s service team was also recognized by Honda as a 2013 Customer Service Experience award winner for delivering the highest level of service in the industry.

It was also a record sales year at Honda North with 1,489 new vehicle and 954 used vehicle sales.

The strong concentration of sales in its core market made Honda North the No. 1 selling new car dealership in Butler County in 2013 across all makes and models as verified by two independent sources, the Urban Science Market Master Report and R.L. Polk Vehicle Registration Reports.

As part of Honda North’s record year in 2013, three employees, Steve Fusco, Mark Damiani and Jerry Smithbauer, were awarded with Gold Level Membership in the Honda Council of Sales Leadership recognition program. Gold level membership is awarded by Honda only to the most accomplished sales consultants based on excellence in sales volume, customer satisfaction and professional knowledge.

In addition, Jerry Smithbauer was named as one of the Top 100 Sales Consultants across the entire country.
