Florence E. 'Gram' Monnie
Florence E. “Gram” Monnie, 89, of Butler passed away Saturday at Butler Memorial Hospital.
She was born on May 22, 1924, in Allegheny County, the daughter of the late Robert and Gladys (Graham) Allison.
Gram was a member of the Thorncreek United Methodist Church. She loved watching the Pirates and spending time with her great-grandsons.
Surviving are her daughter, Shirley (Keith) Monnie Rodgers McCauley of Butler; her three grandsons, Matthew “Phil” Rodgers, Christopher Rodgers and his fiancee, Ashley Daum, and Timothy Rodgers, all of Butler; her two great-grandsons, Logan Daum and Seamus Rodgers-McCauley; and her brother, Robert Allison of Slippery Rock. Also surviving are her family friends, Christie Welling and her daughter, Aryana Hood.
She also was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene C. Monnie; her sister, Shirley Allison; and her brother, William Allison.
Monnie — The friends of Florence E. “Gram” Monnie, who passed away Saturday, Feb. 22, 2014, will be received at the Young Funeral Home, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler, from 2 to 4 and 6 p.m. until the time of the service at 8 p.m. Friday.
