C. Wade Cooper
C. Wade Cooper, 88 of Slippery Rock, Brady Township, Butler County, passed away at 2:15 a.m. Wednesday at VNA Hospice, Technology Drive, Butler.
He was born in Brady Township, Butler County, on the farm where he spent his entire life until he entered Grove Manor in Grove City. He received excellent care there during the past 2½ years of life.
Wade was the son of Finley Wimer Cooper and Jayne E. Wade Cooper.
He married Caroline Elizabeth Mackey on May 6, 1953.
He was a lifetime dairy farmer, where he bred, raised and showed registered Holstein cattle. He was a member of the Butler County Farm Bureau, and the Pennsylvania Holstein Association. He was a member of West Liberty Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include his wife, Caroline, to whom he was married more than 60 years, and she lives at Grove Manor in Grove City; his son, Bradley W. and his wife, Beth Cooper, of Slippery Rock; his three daughters, Nadena L. Kramer and her husband, Bill, of Carlton, Pa., Sylvia J. Morrison and her husband, Larry, of Slippery Rock, and Lisa B. Leach and her husband, Rob, of Linwood, Kan., and his two sisters, Gail Baker of Butler and Doris Hohri and her husband, Tak, of Long Beach, Calif.
Also surviving are his seven grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Wendell.
COOPER — The family of C. Wade Cooper, who passed away Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2014, will receive friends at Smith Funeral Home, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock from 12:30 p.m. until time of service at 3 p.m. Saturday. The funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Donna Yanosy, pastor of West Liberty Presbyterian Church, officiating.Interment will be in West Liberty Cemetery.
