Dolores Vissari

Dolores J. “Chook” Vissari, 85, of Butler passed away Saturday at UPMC St. Margaret.

Born in Mt. Pleasant, Pa., on Oct. 10, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Nelson and Sarah Waters Nedrow.

She was a homemaker and a member of the St. Paul Roman Catholic Church.

Devoted to her husband and family, her happiest times were when she was surrounded by her loved ones.

She is survived by her four daughters, Susan Vissari Clinton and her husband, Dick, of Butler, Donna J. Mikula of Butler, Joyce V. Janicki and her husband, Jack, of Butler and Linda V. Wilbur and her husband, Elliot, of New Jersey; and her four sons, John N. Vissari and his wife, Frances, of Butler, Donald D. Vissari and his wife, Debbie, of Pittsburgh, Daniel J. Vissari of Baltimore, Md., and Thomas B. Vissari of Butler.

She also is survived by her brother, Richard Nedrow and his wife, Carol, of New Stanton, Pa.; her three sisters, Joanne Mizikar of Belle Vernon, Pa., Betty Forbes of Mt. Pleasant, Pa., and Janice Antolik and her husband, George, of Mason, Ohio; her 22 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Patsy J. Vissari, to whom she was married for 64 years and who passed away on Jan. 3, 2014; her two sons, Paul and Raymond Vissari; her brother; and her sister.

Vissari — The friends of Dolores J. “Chook” Vissari, who passed away Saturday, Feb. 15, 2014, will be received at theMartin Funeral Home, Inc., 429 Center Ave., Butler, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the St. Paul Roman Catholic Church. Burial will take place in Calvary Cemetery.St. Paul Catholic Women and Christian Mothers will meet at the church at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday to recite the rosary.For more information, go to www.martinfh.net.
