Charles Flick - OBIT - 2/13/14

Charles E. Flick, 75, of Landgraf Road, Fenelton, passed away at 2:10 a.m. Wednesday at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Mr. Flick was born in Kittanning on May 31, 1938. He was the son of the late Orville and Carrie Clever Flick.

He was a 1957 graduate of Worthington High School.

Charles worked for Pullman Standard in Butler for 19 years, until its closing. He retired from Trinity Industries in Butler following 15 years of service.

Charles was a member of St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church in Coylesville and the Argyle Lodge 540 F & AM of Chicora. He enjoyed golfing and hunting. Mr. Flick was a well-known baseball coach and was the longtime manager of the Little League Pirates in Chicora, and the Mid-County Baseball League, where he achieved a record of 56-0 over three years. He was also an assistant coach for the Chicora American Legion team.

He is survived by his wife, Leona M. Landgraf Flick, who he married at St. John Church in Coylesville on Aug. 10, 1957. Charles was proud of his 56 years of marriage.

Also surviving are his two sons, Paul C. Flick and his wife, Jeanne, of Karns City and Ronald E. Flick of Fenelton; his three grandsons, Nathan Flick and his wife, Bekka, of Chicora, Alex Flick of Karns City, and Curtis Flick of Fenelton; and his two granddaughters, Caralie Hertweck and her husband, Todd, of Chicora, and Tiffany Flick of Fenelton and her fiance, Tyler Wilhem of Garrets Run. Also surviving are his seven great-grandchildren, Malia, Mylie, Allie, Adalyn, Gage, Sylas, and Damien; his three sisters, Beverly Biedenbach and her husband, Francis, of Herman, Janet Kijowski and her husband, Keith, of Butler, and Barb Flick of Butler, as well as a number of nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two brothers, Abe and David Flick. FLICK — The friends of Charles E. Flick, who passed away Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2014, will be received at Hile Funeral Home of Chicora, 339 Chicora Fenelton Road, Chicora, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church in Coylesville, 668 Clearfield Rd., Fenelton, with the Rev. Donald Bischof, church pastor, officiating. Interment will follow at the church cemetery.

Members of the Argyle Lodge 540 F & AM of Chicora will hold a memorial service for their departed brother at 6:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.
