Ardis Pridemore Knight
Ardis Pridemore Knight, 80, of White Oak Road, Springfield Township, Mercer County, died at 4:30 p.m. Saturday at Select Specialty Hospital in St. Joseph Hospital in Warren, Ohio.
Mrs. Knight was born in Branchton, Butler County, on Aug. 9, 1933, to the late Henry Raymond Hogg and Edna A. Hesselgesser Hogg Henry.
She married Henry Eugene Knight Sr. on July 18, 1975. He survives at home.
A homemaker, she formerly was the postmaster at Branchton Post Office. She also worked for the J.C. Penney Co. in Grove City.
Ardis was the oldest living member of the Branchton United Methodist Church, where she has been a member for over 70 years.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, Henry, are a son, Scott Pridemore and his wife, Nancy, of Branchton; her stepdaughter, Terrie L. Cooper and her husband, David, of Grove City, and her stepson, Henry (Hank) Knight Jr. and his wife, Bonnie, of Grove City. Her six grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Sherry Mateer, and her brother, Harold Hogg, in 1948.
KNIGHT — The visitation for Ardis Pridemore Knight, who died Saturday, Feb. 8, 2014, will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Smith Funeral Home, 1778 Perry Highway, Village of Leesburg, Volant, Pa. The services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.Interment will follow at Crestview Memorial Park, Grove City.Memorials may be given to the Branchton United Methodist Church, Branchton.
