School bus driver charged for kicking unruly teens off bus

AMBRIDGE — A school bus driver has been suspended and charged with child endangerment for allegedly making two unruly teens get off the bus about three miles from their stop.

Online court records don’t list an attorney for 55-year-old Larry Bonzo of Ambridge. He faces a preliminary hearing March 21 on charges he made the Ambridge Area Junior High School students get off the bus Feb. 10.

Harmony Township police investigated after the boys’ mothers complained to school officials.

Police determined Bonzo became upset when the boys began banging their hands and feet on the seat and walls of the bus, like they were playing the drums.

R.J. Rhodes Transit confirmed Bonzo’s suspension, but otherwise declined to comment.
