The Butler County Redevelopment Authority will receive a $100,000 state grant to help county residents with permanent physical disabilities make modifications to their homes.

The grant will help make health and safety improvements to allow people with disabilities to better live in their homes.

Butler County is providing $100,000 in matching funds to the authority.

The authority hopes the grant will help 50 households countywide.

The authority runs many programs that assist with home improvements such as weatherization, the HOME program, and an emergency repair program. The authority also works with health and human services organizations to provide services to individuals with disabilities.

“Our authority has aggressively pursued funding to assist, support and expand accessible affordable housing needs for Butler County’s disabled population,” said Perry O’Malley, executive director of the authority, in a statement. “We are pleased to once again partner with the state to provide these much needed renovations to our most vulnerable population.”
