Paul F. Rex

Paul F. Rex, 93, of Butler passed away Monday at the Saxony Health Center in Saxonburg.

Born on July 22, 1920, in Rochester, Pa., Beaver County, he was the son of the late Blaine D. and Ellnora Headland Rex.

He married Mary J. Maffie on Nov. 25, 1944, and she passed away June 27, 2010.

He was a graduate of Beaver High School in 1938, and the Keystone Radio School in Pittsburgh in 1940.

He retired in 1985 as the chief radio engineer for WISR radio station in Butler after 44 years of service. He was a past president of Butler City Hunting and Fishing Club and a recipient of the Butler County Agricultural Bullshipper Award.

He was a member of the St. Mary of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church in Herman, where he was the first lector of the church. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

Surviving are his aunt, his four nieces, his three nephews, his great-niece and his three great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his sister.

REX — There will be no visitation for Paul F. Rex, who passed away Monday, Feb. 3, 2014. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the St. Mary of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church in Herman. Interment will follow at St. Mary Cemetery.The funeral arrangements were entrusted to the GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME, Butler.Information also is available at www.geibelfuneralhome.com.
