Born on Oct. 29, 1921, in Rimersburg, she was the daughter of Archie and Aldie Thompson of Rimersburg.

After graduating from Union High School in 1940, she worked for a short time at the Clarion Glass Plant, where she met her soon-to-be husband, Dale Mortimer. They were married on Jan. 16, 1943. Sadly, Dale preceded her in death on Dec. 19, 1997.

Louise enjoyed life as a wife, mother and homemaker, primarily in the Clarion County area except for a 10-year span in Greensburg, Pa. It was in Greensburg that she found a love for hospital volunteer work and continued that for many years upon her return move to Clarion.

As long as she could drive, she insured none of her many friends were lonely or bored by being the leader of shopping, lunch or dinner excursions. Once driving was no longer an option, she found a good card game at the Clarion Senior Center, socialized across a luncheon table or in other ways. She was a loyal member of the First United Methodist Church of Clarion.
