Mitchell L. Schaffner, 52, of Knox, formerly of Butler, passed away Saturday.

Born on Dec. 31, 1961, in Butler, he was the son of the late Rodger and Margaret Davis Schaffner.

He was employed by Quality Aggregates as a high lift operator. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends and building model trucks.

Surviving are his two children, William and Allyssa Schaffner of Butler; his brother, Rodger (Mona) Schaffner of Tennessee; her sister, Georgetta Thropp of New York; his brother, Michael Schaffner of Slippery Rock; his sister, Margaret (Charles) Ramey of Texas, and numerous nieces and nephews and many close friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
