Quest Continues
Two young performers from Butler County are among the 15 semifinalists in the Kean Quest youth preliminary round two who will compete March 30.
The first is Torrance Bajuszik of Saxonburg, a student in the South Butler School District. For her performance, she sang “On My Own” from the musical “Les Miserables.”
The second is Karac O'Brien of Valencia, a student in the Mars School District. Karac performed Elton John's “Your Song.”
The competition featured 31 young vocalists Feb. 16 at the Kean Theatre, 5847 Meridian Road. A panel of judges produced the scores.Contestants are competing for a recording package and professional photographs as prizes in the categories of Judges' Choice and Audience Choice.The annual “Jackie Evancho Award” also will be presented April 11 during the Kean Quest Talent Search Youth Finals.Registration is still being taken for youth competitions March 2 and 16 and the adult competition April 4.
