Flight 93 histories will be transcribed

PITTSBURGH — The Pennsylvania Court Reporters Association has agreed to help transcribe interviews of family, friends, first responders and investigators as part of an oral history project at the Flight 93 National Memorial.

The national park marks the site where 40 passengers and crew died in a crash after fighting for control of their United Airlines jet with four Muslim hijackers during the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.

The project began in 2005 and now contains more than 800 interviews with those linked to passengers and crew members.
