I didn’t get to see you before you left,

Didn’t get to say my good-byes,

Didn’t get to hug you and kiss you goodnight,

Didn’t get to tell you how much I was proud to have you as a father

Didn’t get the chance to tell you I was sorry for being stupid sometimes,

Didn’t get to dance with you at my wedding,

And you won’t get a chance to see your grandkids,

And I won’t get the chance to say I love you one more time,

I wish I could have those chances

But I’m glad to have had the chance of having a father like you!
