St. Wendelin Preschool, 211 St. Wendelin Road, will hold an open house and registration at 9 a.m. Thursday.

Children will experience a preschool lesson while parents receive program materials.

The school offers classes for 3- and 4- year olds. It incorporates the Sadlier prekindergarten program, which engages children in beginning literacy experiences through thematic units.

JEFFERSON TWP — Hannah Tatro and Debbie Rowe of the patient navigation department at Allegheny Valley Hospital will provide free take-home colon cancer screening kits at 2 p.m. Feb. 26 at Concordia Haven II, Entrance 5, 148 Marwood Road.The patient navigation department focuses on oncology. Tatro and Rowe work to increase screening rates for colon, breast and lung cancers. The program is supported by Highmark Foundation and Accenture.

The ins and outs of baby-sitting will be shared during a free program from 1 to 3 p.m. March 16 at St. Wendelin's Hall, 210 St. Wendelin Road.The class is for girls and boys sixth grade and older. It will include information about negotiating pay, choking hazards, first aid kits, easy crafts, snack ideas, games and more.Register by March 1 by calling Ashley at 724-283-3416 after 4 p.m.
