Ronald Miller

Ronald L. Miller, 73, of Zelienople passed away Tuesday at UPMC Passavant Hospital in McCandless Township following a brief illness.

Born on May 2, 1940, in Zelienople, he was the son of Claude “Clifton” and Leonora “Lee” (Gallagher) Miller.

Ron lived his entire life in Zelienople, and was a 1958 graduate of Zelienople High School and a member of the English Lutheran Church.

He was the produce manager of the former Golden Dawn and owner of Lewis & Miller Erie Insurance Agency until his early retirement at age 59. Upon his retirement, Ron enjoyed a part-time job at Vocelli's Pizza in Zelienople as well as Hovis Auto Parts in Zelienople.

He was a dedicated volunteer fireman for 52 years in Zelienople, including fire chief for two years. Ron was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Zelienople as well as the American Legion Post 474. He enjoyed all sports, especially Pittsburgh teams. Ron truly lived life to the fullest and will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered.

He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Eloise M. (Reibold) Miller, who he married on June 8, 1963; his two sons, Timothy B. Miller and his wife, RaeAnne, of Freedom and Kenneth L. Miller and his wife, Jamie, of Newnan, Ga.; his two grandsons, Jessie and Blake Miller; his two granddaughters, Anna and Ellie Miller; his two sisters, Beverly Harriett and her husband, Tim, of The Villages, Fla., and “Dee” Dick and her husband, Ray, of Huntington, W.Va.; his brother, Gary Miller and his wife, Elaine, of Dix Hills, N.Y.; his brother-in-law, Robert C. Reibold and his wife, Cathy, of Fombell, and his two beloved pets, Shelby, his dog, and Shiloh, his cat.

MILLER — The family of Ronald L. Miller, who passed away Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2013, will welcome friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Boylan Funeral Home, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.A funeral ceremony will be held privately by Ron's family.He will be laid to rest privately at the Zelienople Community Mausoleum.In lieu of flowers, Ron's family suggests memorial contributions be made in his honor to the Zelienople Volunteer Hose Company, 111 W.
