Gerard Vincent 'Gerry' Clouse
Gerard Vincent “Gerry” Clouse, 49, of the Village of North Oakland near Chicora, died of natural causes Saturday at his home.
Gerard was born in Butler on Aug. 17, 1964, to the late Stephen August and Wilhelmina Anne Bracken Clouse. He was their third son and the sixth of seven children.
Gerard was baptized at the St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in North Oakland, where he attended Mass and Sunday school.
His grade school years were spent at Oakland Township Elementary School, and he graduated from Butler High School in 1982.
Being left-handed, Gerry had a natural talent for sports. He was a successful pitcher, like his father, all through his youth, and he also played basketball in junior high. His passion for golf was evident as he played for the Chicora Moose League and participated in many tournaments and fundraising events. He was an avid fan of all the Pittsburgh sports teams, watching almost every Pirates, Penguins and Steelers game. Gerry also liked to ride his quad and would spend time almost every day riding around exploring.
Self employed in the masonry business, his great talent was sought by many and will be hard to replace. Evidence of his skills can be found in many homes and buildings in Butler County and the surrounding areas.
Gerry leaves behind many good friends and family members with whom he enjoyed spending time. His infectious smile and good humor could always lift your spirit.
He is survived by his sisters, Amy MacDonald and her husband, John “Randy,” of Nassau, N.Y., Emily Konar and her fiancee, Jason Malis, of Chicora and Margaret (Peggy) Salyers and her husband, Paul, of Chicora; his brother-in-law, Paul Heller Sr. of Chicora; and his eight nephews, Christian Konar, Paul Heller Jr., Kenneth Heller, Mitchell Heller, Jared Heller, Justin Heller, Christopher Heller and Edward Fisher. His three nieces, Fay Fisher, Amanda Ristity and Allyssa Clouse; a number of great-nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and many good friends also survive.
In addition to his parents, Gerard was preceded in death by his sister, Rhondae Heller; his two brothers, Kenneth and Daniel Clouse; his paternal grandparents, Vincent and Philomena Waltman Clouse; and his maternal grandparents, Floyd and Anne Placide O’Donnell Bracken.
