Elizabeth Pauline (Birkholz) Wazenegger
Elizabeth Pauline (Birkholz) Wazenegger, 93, of Cranberry Township passed away Monday at St. John's Specialty Care Center in Mars.
Born on June 8, 1920, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late Gustav and Amelia (Mantick) Birkholz.
Elizabeth was an active and faithful member of the St. John of Lovi Lutheran Church in Cranberry Township, where she participated in the Women's Club and was also a member of the Friends of Christ at the Cranberry Senior Center. Above all, she was a loving mother and grandmother who will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her four children, Donald R. (Linda) Wazenegger of Evans City, Judith L. Wazenegger of Cranberry Township, Nancy J. (Frank) Crawshaw of Pittsburgh and Janice R. (Jesse) Pinkerton of Baden; her brother, Edward (Sis) Birkholz of Pittsburgh; her three sisters, Erna Dean of Pittsburgh, Flora Storm of Pittsburgh and Ruth Krietzburg of Columbus, Ohio; her seven grandchildren, Donnel (Chris) Wilcox, Tate (Andrea) Wazenegger, Cynthia Segat, Luke (Jamie) Wazenegger, Ginger (Jeremy) Goodrich, Mary Beth and Sarah Crawshaw; and her six great-grandchildren, Morgan, Lidia, Paige, Trey and Chase Wazenegger and Alexander Wieczorek.
In addition to her parents, Elizabeth was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 64 years, Vernon D. Wazenegger, who passed away on Jan. 14, 2009; her brother, Robert Birkholz; and her three sisters, Lillian Wright, Olga Leibson and Matilda Meyer.
Wazenegger — The friends of Elizabeth Pauline (Birkholz) Wazenegger, who passed away Monday, Dec. 30, 2013, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Glenn-Kildoo Funeral Home, 130 Wisconsin Ave., Cranberry Township.A funeral ceremony will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. William Steel, officiating.She will be laid to rest following the service at Pinewood Memorial Gardens, Cranberry Township.If desired, memorial contributions may be made in Elizabeth's honor to the St. John of Lovi Lutheran Church, 1001 Freedom Road, Cranberry Township, PA 16066.
